Getting started
What is iEat?
iEat is a Florida-only marketplace where home cooks sell food directly to nearby buyers. Pickup only — no shipping, no delivery (yet). Buyers reserve items and pay the cook in cash at pickup.
How do I sign in?
Two ways, your choice. Create an account with an email and password at
/login for instant sign-in — or skip the password entirely and tap Email me a sign-in link to get a one-tap link by email. Forgot your password? Use Forgot? on the sign-in screen, or just use the email link instead. How do I change my display name or photo?
Tap
Account in the bottom bar → fill in display name and upload a photo → Save profile. Sellers see this info on your orders and reviews. What are dietary preferences for?
Set them on the Account screen and iEat will pre-apply them as filters when you browse. Sellers also see them on your orders so they can plan accordingly.
Buying food
How do I find food near me?
The map tab (
Browse) shows pins for every active cook near you, color-coded by category. Filter chips at the top narrow by Organic, Gluten-free, Vegan, etc.How do I place an order?
Tap a pin → tap the listing → pick Standard or Organic option, quantity, optional add-ons, pickup time → tap
Place order. The order shows up under Orders → Ordered in the bottom bar. When does the seller share their address?
After they accept your order. Before that you see the approximate area on the map; the exact pickup address shows up on your order screen once the seller hits Accept.
How do I pay?
Cash at pickup. No in-app payments yet — bring the exact amount (or close to it) when you pick up.
Can I edit or cancel my order?
Yes, while it's still Reserved(the seller hasn't marked it ready yet). Once it's Ready or beyond, message the seller to coordinate.
What do the order statuses mean?
Awaiting seller— they haven't seen it yet. Accepted— they've confirmed they'll make it, address is now visible. Ready — food is prepared, come pick up. Picked up — done; you can leave a review.
What's the "I'm on my way" button?
On a Ready order, tap it to let the seller know you're heading over. They'll see it on their side as a green “Buyer is on the way” badge.
Selling food
How do I become a seller?
Tap
Account → Start selling on iEat, or go to /seller/onboard. You'll fill in your business name, pickup address, phone, and attest to Florida's cottage food law. After that you have a Store tab in the bottom bar.How do I publish a listing?
From the Store tab →
+ Publish a new listing. Fill in title, price, photo, category, allergens, and pick Standard/Organic/Both. Set fulfillment to “Available now” with a quantity, or “Order ahead” with a lead time. How do I add multiple photos to a listing?
Up to 5 photos per listing. On the new/edit listing form, select multiple files in the Photos picker. The first photo is the cover that shows on the map. On edit, each existing photo has a × button to remove it.
What's the difference between Standard, Organic only, and Both?
Standard — regular ingredients. Organic only — every ingredient (including seasonings and oils) is certified organic. Both — you offer two versions of the same item at different prices and the buyer picks.
How do pickup hours work?
Set them at
Store → Pickup hours. Two separate schedules: Regular hours for in-stock items, Order-ahead hours for made-to-order. Either set empty = any time allowed. How does the Quantity available field work?
On an “Available now” listing, this is your stock count. It auto-decrements as buyers reserve, shows “X left” on the listing, and sells out at 0. Cancelled orders free their slot back up. Leave blank for unlimited.
What are Posts for?
Posts are mini-blog updates that show on your public vendor page. Use them for cooking-progress photos, holiday menus, or announcements. Add up to 5 photos per post from
Store → Posts → + New post. What does "Accept" actually do?
Acknowledges the order AND reveals your pickup address to the buyer. Use it as soon as you commit to making the food, even if it's not ready yet. The address-reveal point is intentional — buyers shouldn't see your home address until you confirm you'll have something for them.
What's the subscription?
$5/month after a free 30-day trial. If your trial lapses and you haven't subscribed, your listings drop off the buyer map until you do. Manage at
Store → Billing.Florida cottage food law
What's the $250K cap?
Florida limits cottage-food sellers to $250,000 in annual gross sales. iEat tracks your YTD total; you'll get a heads-up as you approach.
Why can't I use the word "Organic" in my title?
Florida law forbids the unqualified use of “Organic” on cottage food. iEat surfaces it instead as “Organic Ingredients” with a per-listing attestation. The Organic mode on the listing form handles this for you.
Why does every listing have a disclaimer?
“Made in a cottage food operation that is not subject to Florida's food safety regulations” — required by state law on every listing. iEat shows it automatically; you can't edit it.
Reviews, reports, & safety
How do reviews work?
After a pickup, the buyer can rate the seller (1-5 stars + optional comment), and the seller can rate the buyer. Reviews require a real picked-up order — no review-without-purchase.
How do I report a problem?
Tap
Report on a vendor profile, listing, or order. Pick a category (spam, fraud, safety, etc.) and explain. iEat staff reviews every report and follows up within a couple business days. What if my account is suspended?
You can still reach iEat at Messages → iEat support even while suspended. Tell us what happened and we'll review your appeal.
