Terms of Service

Last updated: May 23, 2026

1. Acceptance of these terms

By creating an iEat account or using iEat, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you don't agree, don't use iEat.

2. What iEat is

iEat is a marketplace platform that connects buyers and sellers of home-prepared food under Florida's cottage food law. iEat does not prepare, store, deliver, or guarantee any food sold through the platform. iEat is not the seller of any item listed by users.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to use iEat. Sellers must be physically located in Florida and operating a cottage food operation in compliance with Florida law.

4. Florida cottage food law (sellers)

Sellers attest that:
  • They produce food in a cottage food operation as defined by Florida law (Florida Statutes § 500.80).
  • They will not exceed $250,000 in gross annual sales.
  • Each listing carries the required disclaimer: “Made in a cottage food operation that is not subject to Florida's food safety regulations.”
  • They will not use the unqualified term “Organic” in listing titles or descriptions. The “Organic Ingredients” designation requires a per-listing attestation that all such ingredients are actually certified organic.
  • All transactions are direct-to-consumer in Florida — pickup only. No shipping, no wholesale, no resale.

5. Payments

iEat does not process payments between buyers and sellers in v1. Buyers pay sellers directly in cash at pickup. Any dispute about payment is between the buyer and seller. iEat may add in-app payment processing in a future version.

6. Seller subscription

Sellers receive a 30-day free trial. After the trial, continuing to list on iEat requires a $5/month subscription billed via Stripe. Subscription details, cancellation, and refund policy follow Stripe's standard terms.

7. Acceptable use

You agree NOT to:
  • List food that violates federal, state, or local law.
  • Misrepresent ingredients, allergens, organic status, or preparation methods.
  • Harass, threaten, or defraud other users.
  • Use iEat to coordinate transactions outside the platform with the intent of avoiding fees once subscription billing is in place.
  • Scrape, copy, or republish iEat content or user data without permission.

8. User content

You retain ownership of the content you post (listings, photos, posts, reviews, messages). By posting, you grant iEat a worldwide, non-exclusive license to display and distribute that content for the purpose of operating the platform.

9. Account suspension

iEat may suspend or terminate any account that violates these terms, Florida law, or community safety. Suspended users can appeal via in-app support at iEat support.

10. Liability

iEat is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. iEat is not liable for the safety, quality, or accuracy of any food sold through the platform, or for disputes between buyers and sellers. To the maximum extent permitted by law, iEat's aggregate liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid iEat in the 12 months preceding the claim (which, for buyers, is zero; for sellers, the monthly subscription).

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The “Last updated” date at the top reflects the most recent version. Material changes will be announced via email or in-app notice.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida. Any dispute will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Florida.
